Untreated Lumber
Plain, untreated lumber — sold fresh (green) or kiln-dried — available as boards, dimensional lumber, and hardwoods. Ideal for interior projects: framing, interior trim, cabinetry, furniture, shelving, paneling, and decorative millwork. Because it contains no chemical preservatives, it’s not recommended for outdoor or ground-contact uses like decks, fence posts, or landscape timbers — choose pressure-treated lumber or naturally rot-resistant species (cedar, redwood, select hardwoods) for those applications. Finishing with paint, stain, or a sealer extends the life and appearance of untreated wood in less-exposed areas.
At Smith Lumber Company, we stock green and kiln-dried options in common sizes and hardwood species to match your project needs. Ask our team for help selecting the right moisture content and grade for your job.
